Wire Harness Quality & Testing

1. Supplier Verification
Suppliers are evaluated and verified according to IMA’s applicable quality requirements.
2. Incoming Material Inspection
Incoming materials are inspected according to applicable specifications and quality requirements.
3. First Article Inspection
First article inspections are performed to verify product requirements before production, as applicable.
4. Crimp Height & Pull Force Verification
Crimp height and pull force are verified according to applicable specifications and acceptance criteria.
5. In-Process Visual & Dimensional Inspection
Visual and dimensional inspections are performed during production to verify workmanship and dimensional requirements.
6. 100% Inspection of Critical Dimensions
Critical dimensions are subject to 100% inspection according to applicable customer and product requirements.
7. Electrical Testing
Every assembly is electrically tested for continuity, opens, shorts, and miswires. Resistance testing is performed when required.
8. Final Inspection
Final inspection is performed against customer drawings using General Inspection Level II, AQL 1.0.
9. Labeling, Packaging & Shipment Verification
Product identification, labeling, packaging, and shipment requirements are verified before release.
10. Nonconformance Control & Corrective Action
Nonconforming product is controlled through IMA’s quality system, with corrective action implemented when required.
